City centre · Sleeps 2
A former ironmonger's,
now one very good room.
Exposed steel, original factory windows, a bed you won't want to leave — six minutes' walk from the station, on a quiet street the guidebooks haven't found yet.
The space
One open-plan room under a 3.4m ceiling, with the original cast-iron columns and factory windows left as they were found. A proper kitchen, not a kettle-and-a-hob. Everything you'd want and nothing you'd have to work around.
Location
On a quiet mill-conversion street, six minutes' walk from the station and fifteen from the centre. Everything nearby is the kind of place a local would send you, not a coach tour.
Getting here
6 min walk from the station. Street parking permit provided for guests with a car.
Food & drink
A short list of the places we actually go ourselves is left on the kitchen counter.
Around the block
Independent shops, a Sunday market two streets over, and the canal towpath for a run.
Reviews
Better finished than most hotels twice the price. The kitchen alone made the trip.
Self check-in was seamless and the location is genuinely quiet despite being so central.
Loved the original windows and the bed. Street noise on Friday night, worth knowing.
